Arquet is hiring a General Manager Arquet is a new, ingredient-driven California restaurant opening in San Francisco’s Ferry Building in late summer 2025, from the team behind Michelin-starred Sorrel. This large-format lunch and dinner concept will feature wood-fired cooking, seasonal locally sourced produce from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and a refined yet casual waterfront dining experience. We’re looking for a motivated and experienced General Manager to help lead our front-of-house team and play a key role in shaping the identity and culture of Arquet. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a brand-new restaurant from the ground up—working alongside an accomplished, creative team in one of the city’s most iconic locations. The General Manager, under the direction of our Director of Operations, is responsible for: Hiring, training, scheduling, and mentoring FOH staff Creating a positive, team-oriented work environment Managing payroll, tip distribution, and cash while adhering to local and state labor regulations Reviewing P&L and sales reports while meeting budgeted sales and labor requirements Maintaining FOH inventories Overseeing daily floor service and guest experience Managing reservation systems and guest communications Supporting private dining and off-site events What you can expect from us: A supportive, collaborative leadership team High standards and clear expectations Full benefits program Bonus incentives Paid vacation A rare opportunity to lead and build a new restaurant from day one Required Experience: 5+ years of FOH management in a high-profile restaurant Strong wine knowledge; Sommelier certification a plus Experience opening a restaurant or managing a launch is highly valued We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
